.Stephanie J. Stanley, age 37, formerly of Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly on Friday morning, October 2, 2015 at her home in South Jordan, Utah.
Stephanie was born on Monday, January 30, 1978 in Danville, a daughter to Donald and Melanie (Krum) Stanley of Bloomsburg. Stephanie was one of six children growing up in the Stanley household in Bloomsburg. Stephanie was raised in Bloomsburg and attended the former Bloomsburg Christian School located on corner of East Fifth and Park Streets. She graduated in 1996 from the Bloomsburg Christian School and expanded her education at Penn State University in State College with a degree in nursing. She also attended Bloomsburg University and Davis Bible College in Johnson City, New York.
While living in South Jordan, Utah, Stephanie was employed as an Intensive Care Nurse in the pediatric ward of the Jordan Valley Medical Center for the past few years. While living in Utah, she was a devoted member of the Lifeline Community Church. Stephanie loved to cook meals for her nieces and nephews on a regular basis. She also enjoyed spending warm days outside on a bicycle or running throughout the neighborhood. On rainy days, she would love nothing more than to sit with a good book. She loved her family and spending time with them laughing and will be remembered for her contagious smile. Without any hesitation, Stephanie's family was always the essence of her life.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Stanley in July of 1976, and also her grandfather, Eugene G. Krum, who passed on December 27, 1998.
Surviving in addition to her parents, Donald and Melanie Stanley of Bloomsburg, are five siblings: Jennifer Hurlbutt and husband, Rev. Bryan, of Salt Lake City, UT; Kathryn Dixson and husband, Brian, of Berwick; Ian Stanley, Tristan Stanley and Cameron Stanley all of Bloomsburg; her maternal grandmother: Laura K. "Dolly" Krum, also of Bloomsburg; and paternal grandparents: Charles and Estella Stanley of Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday afternoon, October 12 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church, 2938 State Route 42 in Millville.
Funeral services will also begin on Monday afternoon, October 12 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church, Millville with Rev. Paul E. Converse and her brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. Bryan Hurlbutt, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Stanley family.
