Scott Erick Gleber, age 60, of Bloomsburg, died at his home suddenly on Friday, September 20, 2013.
Scott was born on Monday, September 14, 1953, in Danville, Virginia, a son of Thelma (Clark) Gleber of Danville, VA, and the late Anthony J. Gleber (LtC. U.S. Army Ret.), who passed July of 2001. Scott was always known by his family as "Sonny". Scott completed his high school education after graduating from the Leavenworth High School in Kansas in 1972. He furthered his education at the Louisiana State University, and graduated in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Scott was a self-employed contractor with the United States Air Force as a Senior Engineer with computer systems and data base programming.
In addition to his mother Thelma Gleber, Scott is survived by his loving companion of 13 years and best friend for 44 years, Mary (Hogan) Chamuris. Also surviving is a sister, Gwen Hopkins and husband, Jerry, of Greensboro, NC; two brothers: Anthony Gleber and wife, Marian, of Chatham, VA; and Daniel Gleber of Danville, VA; a niece: Beth Ann Hopkins of Greensboro, NC; and a niece and nephew of Danville, VA; Mary's daughters: Marguerite Eisenhuth and husband, Jeff; and Elizabeth Chamuris both of Bloomsburg; and a grandson: Lucas Eisenhuth.
Services to celebrate the life of Scott Gleber will be held privately with family and friends. The Gleber family is being assisted by the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
