Rodney B. Defrain, age 59, of 28 Perry Avenue, Bloomsburg died unexpectedly Sunday, October 12, 2008 at his residence. He had resided at his Bloomsburg residence for two years.Rodney was born February 12, 1949 in Nanticoke, the son of the late Gerald H. DeFrain, Sr. and Helen (Kibler) DeFrain. He attended Nanticoke and Berwick Area Schools. He was employed as a painter, metalworker, and Cook. He was formerly employed by VNR Enterprises.

Rodney was an avid artist, loved picnics, and dancing. He also enjoyed many outdoor activities. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister: Mary Ann DeFrain in 1957.Survivors include his daughter: Megan DeFrain; Bloomsburg, a son: Brent DeFrain, Hershey; a grandson: Rhyan DeFrain; a sister: Teri Barren, Nescopeck; and three brothers: Gerald H. DeFrain, Jr., Orangeville; Robert A. DeFrain and his wife Mary, Berwick; and Ronald DeFrain and his wife Judy, Bloomsburg.           Memorial services will be Friday, October 17 at 6 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
