Paul A. Hackett, age 65, of Bloomsburg, PA, died on Friday, April 15, 2016, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Paul was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg, PA for over 21 years.
Paul was born on Saturday, February 3, 1951 in Topeka, Kansas, a son of Helen (Shields) Hackett of Chico, CA and the late Ambrose Hackett. Throughout his younger years, Paul attended and later graduated from the Hayden High School of Topeka, KS in 1969. Paul expanded his education by attending Washburn University.
On October 18, 1985, Paul married his loving wife, Freida (Heron) Hackett formerly of Topeka. For over 40 years, Paul was employed by Del Monte Pet Foods and last served as Plant Manager at the Lime Ridge facility until his retirement in 2012.
Paul enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing, woodworking (tinkering), boating, camping.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Freida Hackett of Bloomsburg, mother, Helen Hackett of Chico, CA, son, Chad Pore and wife, Amy, of Wichita, KS, daughter, Tammy Switzer and husband, Bobby of Nescopeck, PA, son, John Hackett of Wichita, KS, daughter, Jill Fleming and husband, Cyrus of Wichita, KS, son, David Amon and wife, Jessica, of Orangeville, PA, 8 grandchidren, Christine Foga, CJ Pore, Nate Pore, Sam Pore, Gabe Pore, Anna Fleming, Cyrus Fleming, Jr., and Jon Fleming, sister, Christine Mulqueeny and husband, David of Chico, CA, brother, Ed Hackett and wife, Marina of Pensacola, FL, brother, Patrick Hackett of Magonila Springs, AL, and sister, Beverly Wiley and husband, John of Kansas City, KS.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, April 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday morning, April 20 at 10 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Fidelis Umukoro, O.P., of Maria Joseph Manor, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Hackett family.
