Obituary

Ned W. Lemons, age 61, of Whitman Avenue in Bloomsburg, died on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in the ER of the Bloomsburg Hospital. He was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 40 years. Ned was born on Tuesday, July 27, 1948 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Harry and Rosetta (Breech) Lemons. He was a member of the 1968 Graduating Class of the Bloomsburg High School. Early in life, he was the owner and operator of the former Lemons Tavern on East Main Street in Bloomsburg for over 25 years. Most recently, he was employed as a Pennsylvania State Constable in Columbia County for over ten years. He was an active social member of the Catawissa VFW in Catawissa. Survivors included his beloved wife, Ruth Ann (Feese) Lemons, with whom he would have celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary on July 12, 2010; a daughter: Shirley Brobst and her husband, Paul, of Catawissa; a son: Craig Lemons of Mifflinville; a grandson: Jeremy Brobst; a granddaughter: Danielle Lemons; and a brother: Earl Lemons and his wife, Margaret, of Orangeville. He was preceded in death by a brother Glenn Lemons. A Visitation for friends and family will be held Monday evening, July 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market and Eighth Street in Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will be private from the Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Engelhardt of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ officiating. Private Graveside services will be held in Elan Memorial Park in Lime Ridge.
