Marilyn E. Johansen, age 82, formerly of Sun City West, Arizona died Friday, February 04, 2011, a ten year resident of Nottingham Village in Northumberland.
Marilyn was born on Tuesday, April 3, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late George and Emily Hutchinsen Fish. She was an Elementary School Teacher for the Old Tappan School District in New Jersey. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Northumberland and also a member of the Susquehanna Valley Art Guild. As an artist, Marilyn was accomplished and expressive through water color painting and copper enameling.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Johansen, in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter: Kathy Baker and her husband, Richard, of Bloomsburg; a son: William Johansen and his wife, Joanne, of Hockessin, Delaware; four grandchildren and a sister: Virginia Skutnik of New Jersey.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church, 345 Market Street in Bloomsburg, with Rev. Steve Cureton, officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial will be held in Sun City West, Arizona.
