Lila Mae Tischler, age 84, of Stoney Brook Circle, Orangeville, died on Friday evening, November 5, 2010, a resident of Bloomsburg Health Care Center. She had been a resident since May of 2010.
Lila was born on Tuesday, December 15, 1925 in Pittston, a daughter of the late Melvin and Edith Santee Geib. She attended the Wyoming High School. Throughout her earlier years, she worked for a shoe factory, but recently devoted her love and time to her family. She enjoyed gardening, professional wrestling and cooking for her family. Her greatest love was her family, she enjoyed spending time with them and her dog Chica.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Tischler, Sr. in July of 1997; a granddaughter: Kimberly Kindt Tuzzi on September 11, 2009 and a brother: Melvin Geib, Jr.
Survivors include three daughters: Coralee Kindt and her husband, Layne, of Bloomsburg and Linda Tischler and her husband, Paul F., Jr. of Cinnaminson, NJ; and Beverly Michaels of Pittston; a son: Leonard J. Dupcavitch of Trucksville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother: Wesley Geib and his wife, Mary Lou, of Tunkhannock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 11 at 1 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home of 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg with Rev. Christian R. Dunlap, Columbia Montour Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor officiating. Private burial will be held in Mount Zion Cemetery in Carverton.
