Julia Whiteco , age 94, of Bloomsburg, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2017, a patient of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center. Julia was a resident of her home in Almedia for over 65 years.
Julia was born on Sunday, December 10, 1922 in Main Township, a daughter of the late Steven and Mary Petock.
On June 6, 1944, Julia married her loving husband Larue D. Whiteco. They recently celebrated 73 years of marriage.
For many years, Julia was employed by RoseMart of Bloomsburg as a Seamstress until her retirement. She attended the Almedia Bible Church and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. Julia enjoyed spending her time being a volunteer, gardening and baking.
Survivors include her beloved husband Larue D. Whiteco: two children: Terry Whiteco (Judy) and Barbara A. Bechtold (Barry) both of Bloomsburg: two grandchildren: Lindsay Smith (fiancée, Domingo) of Elysburg and Derek Smith (Jackie) Pasco, WA: step grandson: Thomas Arnold (Meredith) of Mifflinville; great granddaughter: Raelynn Rosario; step grandsons: Garrett and Alex Arnold; two sisters; Pauline Rearick and Margaret Young (Jim) both of Bloomsburg.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Almedia Bible Church, 278 VanDine Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Larry Smith, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Elan Memorial Park. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Whiteco family.
