Obituary

Harry B. DeWald, age 63, of Park Street, Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, a patient of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was also a resident, prior to his home on Park Street, of Fernville and also East Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Harry was born on Thursday, December 16, 1948 in Bloomsburg the son of the late Jesse H. and S. Marie (Christian) DeWald. He was a member of the 1967 Graduating Class of the Bloomsburg High School and also a graduate of the Thompson Business School in Harrisburg. He was most recently employed by Dyco Industries, Inc. in Berwick as a controller and an accountant. He was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bloomsburg and a former member of the Church Vestry. He was also a member of the Bloomsburg Elks BPOE #436 and the Dream Machines Car Club in Bloomsburg.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed certain hobbies such as playing drums, and was also a very active Civil War enthusiast, especially with details and items pertaining to the Battle of Gettysburg. His favorite enjoyment during his life was spending time driving his 1976 Corvette and attending car shows with the Dream Machines. Each year Harry enjoyed spending time and working at the Bloomsburg Fair.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Mary E. Wolfe, having been married on April 4, 1970. Also surviving are two daughters: Stephanie Lerke and husband, Thalan, of Sunbury and Meredith DeWald and fiancé, Robert Cooper, of Bloomsburg; and a sister: Jean L. Hanna and husband, Thomas, of Coatesville. He was preceded in death by a sister, the late Eleanor Klingerman in 1992.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 10 at 1 p.m. at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, East Main and Iron Streets in Bloomsburg with Rev. John W. Davies, officiating. Graveside services will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Memorial contributions in Harry's name are suggested to: St. Paul's Memorial Fund, 101 E. Main St. Bloomsburg; or Dream Machines Car Club, 228 Gotschal Road, Danville, PA 17821.
