Obituary

Gary W. Fenstermacher, ager 67, of 345 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 5 at his residence. Prior to living on Iron Street, since 1998, he was a resident on 28 Lunger Drive in Bloomsburg. Gary was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1942 in Bloomsburg, the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Helen (Roan) Fenstermacher. He attended the Bloomsburg High School. Gary served during the Vietnam War in Germany with the United States Army. He was employed, during his younger years, for Magee Carpet Co. and was employed most of his working life for Interstate Travelers Service. He managed the former CITGO Gas Station on Route 11 for many years. He was a member of the Valley of Bloomsburg American Legion Post #273, Ft. McClure Post #804 VFW, the former Liberty Fire Company, and the Bloomsburg Fire Department. He was a former coach and umpire with the Bloomsburg Little League. Gary is survived by 2 sons: Jaime G. Fenstermacher of Norfolk, Virginia and Scott D. Fenstermacher, and his wife, Beth of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and one sister: Judy Heckman and her husband, James of Rupert. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 11 A.M. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg with Pastor Chuck Chamberlain of the Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church, officiating. Memorial contributions in Gary's name are suggested to: Bloomsburg Fire Company, 911 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
