Freda J. Emlet, age 80, a resident of Bloomsburg since June 2006 died suddenly Sunday evening in the Geisinger Medical Center Emergency Room. For 40 years Freda was a resident of Camp Hill and prior to moving to Bloomsburg she resided in Mechanicsburg for 10 years. One of 14 children, Freda was born on January 6, 1930 in Mechanicsburg, a daughter of the late Harry and Dessie Miller Deckman. She graduated from the Mechanicsburg High School and was a 50 year member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Shiremanstown. Freda was honored to be known as a homemaker and housewife. Her husband of 62 years, Marlin E. Emlet, died on January 23, 2009. She was also preceded in death by 8 siblings. Survivors include a daughter: Marla Cechman and husband, Fred, of Bloomsburg; a son: Jeffrey A. Emlet and wife, Cary, of Camp Hill; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Allen Funeral Home, Bloomsburg with Rev. Thomas Fetterolf officiating. Freda will be interred beside her husband in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.
