Enrique Robles

Enrique Robles, age 95, of Bloomsburg, died on Sunday, January 1, 2017, a resident of Brookdale Senior Living of Bloomsburg. Enrique was a former resident of Puerto Rico, New York City and Palm Coast, FL. Enrique was born on Sunday, July 22, 1921 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Julio and Carmen (Valles) Robles. On December 20, 1941, Enrique married his loving wife, Clotilde (Montalvo) Robles formerly of Puerto Rico. Enrique was foreman of the color television line of Emerson Radio and Television for 20 years. Following that employment, for over 15 years, Enrique was employed by NYC Transportation as a Bus Driver until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish of Bloomsburg. Enrique enjoyed spending his time fishing, gardening and doing carpentry projects. He played minor league baseball as a young man in Puerto Rico and became acquainted with members of American Negro League while playing baseball. Survivors include his beloved wife of 75 years, Clotilde Robles of Bloomsburg; daughters: Myrna (Rick) Conner of Bloomsburg and Hedy Rieff (Gerald) of Syosset, NY; son: Louis Enrique (Maria)Robles of Suances, Cantabria, Spain; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St.,Bloomsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Sts., with his pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence, as celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Robles family.
