Dorothy Gray Peifer, age 94, of Bloomsburg, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 a resident of Emmanuel Skilled Nursing Center in Danville since November of 2010.
Dorothy was born on Monday, June 25, 1917 in DuBois, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Paul and Emma (Minnich) Gray. She attended schools in the Dubois Area. Dorothy dedicated her time and compassion to caring for her family and her son. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg.
On August 19, 1985, Dorothy was preceded by her husband of 50 years, the late Frederick Ferguson, and also by her beloved second husband of 14 years, the late John D. Peifer on February 5, 1999. Also preceding her were three siblings: Sara Derr, Ralph Gray and Helen Ando.
Surviving is her beloved son: Allen E. Ferguson and wife, Betsy, of Carlisle, PA; two granddaughters: Heather Rose and Debra Ferguson, and also a great-granddaughter: Morgan Rose.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m. in a location to be announced in the near future, with Rev. Audrey M. Brosious, officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow. Memorial contributions in Dorothy's honor are suggested to: Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 101 E. 5th Street, Bloomsburg, PA.
