Charles G. Bloss, age 82, a life-long resident of Roaring Creek Valley, Numidia area, died Wednesday morning, October 19, 2011, a resident at Grandview Health Homes in Danville.
Charles was born on Friday, July 12, 1929 in Kulp, a son of the late Guy and Edna (Helwig) Bloss. Charles enjoyed farming in Roaring Creek Valley throughout his life. He was also employed by the Danville State Hospital for over 35 years as a cook and security guard. He was a member of the Grace Reformed Church in Millgrove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Leah Houseknecht in 2002 and also a brother: David Bloss in 2011.
Survivors include two sisters: Rosemary Hummel and husband, Cleveland C., of Bloomsburg; and Lucille Kreischer and husband, Kirby, of Nescopeck, as well as many nephews and nieces.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Grace Reformed Church, Millgrove.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Reformed Church, 1 Pension St., Catawissa (Millgrove), with his nephew, Rev. Steven C. Hummel, officiating. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery. The Bloss family is being assisted by the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
