Betty B. Temple, age 84, of Thomas Road, Bloomsburg, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville.
Betty was born on Friday, September 9, 1927 in Hemlock Township, a daughter of the late Russell and Rachel (Stauffer) Welliver. For over 11 years, she was employed by the Bloomsburg Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She was also a member of the Canby Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant Twp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph "Pete" M. Temple, Sr. on November 25, 2005; a son: Gerald Temple in 2006; a grandson: Michael Temple in 1992; two brothers: Paul and Parmley Welliver; and a sister: Myrtle Megargle. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include four sons: Larry Sommers and wife, Linda, of Catawissa; Martin Temple; David Temple; and Ralph Temple, Jr. and wife, Karen, all of Bloomsburg; two daughters: Joanne Bogner of Catawissa; and Donna Moore and husband, Robert, of Bloomsburg; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A time of Visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday, September 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 16 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Martin Kessler of Canby Lutheran Church, officiating.
