Barbara E. Friebus, age 53, of Columbia Boulevard, Bloomsburg died on Sunday, October 2, 2011 surrounded by family and friends at home. Prior to moving to the Bloomsburg area, she resided in South Africa.
Barbara was born on Sunday, November 24, 1957 in Auchterarder, Scotland, a daughter of the late George and Anne (Patterson) Alexander. Throughout her earlier life, she attended 13 different schools on four different continents and received a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. She was co-owner and partner with husband in their business American Cycle Fabrication.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 30 years, Paul H. Friebus of Bloomsburg; three sisters: Tany Alexander of Oxford, England; Rev. Kim Alexander of Johannesburg, South Africa; and Gail Winfield and husband, Duncan, of Port William, Scotland; four nephews: Michael, Graham, Callum, and Ross; two great-nieces: Allison and Angela; a great-nephew: Danny and a mother and father-in-law: Ann and Henry Friebus of Cape Town, South Africa.
At the request of the family, there will be no public services.
