Obituary

Anna Mae Walburn, age 87, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Perry Village, New Bloomfield where she had been a resident. Previously Anna Mae lived on W. Main Street, on East Street and on E. Sixth Street, Bloomsburg. Anna Mae was born August 12, 1922 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Raymond H. and Anna R. (Springer) Acor. During World War II Anna Mae worked at American Home Foods, Milton; she had worked as a nurse's aide at Harrisburg State Hospital; at Bloomsburg Woolen Mills and before her retirement in 1999 she was employed by various physicians and private residents to clean for them. Anna Mae had attended the Rose Glen Brethren in Christ Church in New Bloomfield. While living in Bloomsburg she attended the Trinity Reformed U.C.C. where she was very proud to have taught Sunday School for fifty years, she also had attended the former Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed auto racing, NASCAR races and especially loved spending time with her family. Anna Mae was preceded by her husband, Wilmot E. Walburn, March 3, 1973; by two sisters: Kathryn Hendricks and Mary Josephine Steininger and three brothers: Maurice and George Acor and John Springer. Survivors include her son: Dennis Larue Walburn, New Bloomfield; two granddaughters: Harriet A. King and her husband, Calvin, New Bloomfield, and Rebecca R. Gipe and her husband, Chad, Morriston, TN; twelve step-grandchildren and was proud of her abundance of great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg with Rev. David D. Rosenberger, New Testament Assembly of God Church, Millville officiating. Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until time of service. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Milton. The family will provide flowers.
