Obituary
Anna Mae Robbins, age 85, formerly of Legion Road, Bloomsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 as a patient in the Schuylkill Medical Center in Pottsville. She was a resident of her home on Legion Road for over 56 years.
Anna was born on Thursday, April 9, 1925 in Catawissa, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Kelly) Huber. She attended the Catawissa area schools throughout her younger years. She was employed, throughout most of her working career, by numerous Silk Mills in the Susquehanna Valley. Many of her favorite hobbies included puzzles, cooking and gardening. Her favorite pastime of all was spending time with all of the members of her family.
She was the widow of the late, John H. Robbins who passed on August 15, 1978.
Anna is survived by her four children: John D. Robbins and his wife, Alverda of Bloomsburg, Bonnie K. Lizardi of Bloomsburg, Paul H. Robbins of Leader, Texas and Lucinda M. Maxwell of Bloomsburg; 14 grandchildren: Brian L Robbins, Sr., Randy A. Robbins, Michael Lizardi, Brenda Lizardi, Shannon Maxwell, Shana Glenney, James Maxwell, Jr., Katie Kennedy, Melissa Irwin, Joel Maxwell, Connie Schrader, Cindy Popewczak, Roger Fegley and Mark Kerstetter; 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by, including her late husband, eight siblings: Curven Huber, Walter Huber, Joseph Huber, Paul Huber, James Huber, Carl Huber, Grace Huber and Violet Huber; and one grandson: John Lizardi. Anna was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, May 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market Street in Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 3 at 10 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Allen F. Acor of Hendrickson United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery in Espy. Memorial contributions in Anna's name are suggested to Columbia County War Memorial, c/o American Legion Post 273, 110 Juniper Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
